29 "Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

2-1/2 c spaetzle, cooked according to directions, drain and reserve 1 c pasta water
Set aside
1 lb sliced and baked Smoked Sausage, set aside
In a skillet , add:
1 Onion, caramelize in 1 T clarified butter
Then add 1/4 c kraut
1/2 c kale
Season with:
1/2 t thyme
1/2 t rosemary
Pinch of nutmeg
1 t sugar
Smoked salt and cracked black pepper
To make Sauce:
Add to onion mixture these ingredients
1 c pasta water
1/4 c heavy Cream
1 c Gruyere shredded cheese
Into the onion mixture add sausage.
Topping
1/4 c Gruyere
1/4 c panko
1/4 c crushed canned onion rings
Bake 350 degree preheated oven for 30 minutes.
